Our dogs are forever a part of our emotional existence. They are part of what made me both an artist and a force free dog trainer.
I attended Kansas City Art Institute in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I was a full-time starving artist for many years. I painted and dabbled in clay and fiber arts and have shown my work in galleries all over the country. I also started a company in the 90’s called Happy House Furniture wherein I designed, built and hand painted custom pieces with my husband Robert.
My work has always been inspired by animals, but mostly by dogs (surprise, surprise). Due to my love of dogs, I became a certified dog trainer in 2006. I am still helping people and their dogs today. My need to continue to make art has been increasing in the past few years and I have begun working on these fun and whimsical clay pieces. They are made from Polymer clay and hand painted. I have been inspired by the many dogs I have known in my life and career, and a few silly cats, but mostly by my own dog, Mr. Cleo.
I do many custom orders. Each piece is a one of a kind original. It has been wonderful getting back to my craft and I look forward to all the interesting and fun pieces I will get to work on in the future.
